Biking in the Boondocks ©
Dodging crickets, dodging frogs, Protect your legs from nipping dogs. Startled horses, flattened snakes Fresh black tar, and body aches. Dodging puddles, dodging worms. Dangerous gravel on corner turns. Bugs in eyes, bugs on teeth, Up hill climbs, potholes beneath. Dodging joggers, dodging storms, Roadside litter, buzzing swarms. Red Winged Blackbirds, baby hares, Rusty nails, and Wooly Bears. Chains fall off, sweat in eyes, Fatigue sets in, burning thighs. Country bike rides I must say, "Whose idea was this anyway?"

Hardwood Echoes ©
Offbeat rhythms of “round ball” drums. Echo off rafters like a musical thrum.
The slap of the ball, and shouts to “Defend!” “Nothin’ but net” is the trash at the end.
An occasional pause with clacking chalk. And a pat on the back during the final walk.
The rhythmic steps on a hardwood floor. The closing resound of an old metal door.
Multiple clicks of each light switch. One final glance so nothing is missed.
That last bit of silence, to me it reminds Of basketball memories, and the best of times.

Better Place ©
I'm comforted in knowing you're in a better place But the void in my life shall never be replaced. Watch over me closely through my laughter and tears. Guide me like a beacon as I navigate the years. For the time will come when the Lord calls me home. And together in heaven our two souls will roam. So until that time you'll always remain That beautiful rainbow that brightens my rain.

You're Not Alone ©
You're not alone, we've all been there, Doubting His presence in moments of fear. Challenging His existence when facing despair. You're not alone, we've all been there.
Have faith that an answer may soon be known. And for all of the injustices He will atone. Hold tight to His hand with a grip of stone. In time He'll reveal you were never alone.

Your Time ©
Your time on this earth is precious and few. So live your life as if each day's anew. And do those things that are unique to you. So that God's precious gifts are in full view.
Discover the talents you were meant to find, While freeing your soul, and challenging your mind. For when you're gone, these gifts left behind. Are the special things that made this "Your Time".
